The human behind the lens

Hi I’m Kelly. 31 national parks down, on a life goal of visiting every one in the United States.

I’m a crazy cat and dog mom as well as mom to two tiny humans. I love the outdoors and enjoy exploring. Feel free to ask me about the overrated and underrated parks I love.

I enjoy volunteering my time for rescues. I live for the summer sunshine but fall colors have my whole heart. I love fur babies and am so lucky that I get to meet and photograph them.

Kind words from clients

I love my photos from K Schulz Photography! Kelly really has an eye for dog photography and brought my vision to life during our sunrise photoshoot. She made me and my dog feel so comfortable during the photoshoot where I felt like I could be myself to get the most authentic photos possible. I highly recommend her!! (and sunrise photoshoots!)

Kelly is an absolute miracle worker. She has photographed both of my dogs multiple times and I am always amazed and how she captures their personalities so well. I'm not sure who is more excited...me for the photos I am going to get or the dogs getting to see her. I highly recommend her
Shannon, with Frosty and Twinkie
Kelly is able to capture the true essence of her subjects perfectly. She is so patient and has a great vision. I have seen her work with over ten dogs in multiple locations and the results are TRUE MAGIC.

Kelly is always a blast to work with! She has such an eye for everything she shoots and can capture that perfect moment even if you aren't aware it's there! Love working with her whenever I get the chance.

Questions before you book

Can we choose the session location or do you?
If you have a favorite dog park or cozy corner of your home, you are definitely welcome to choose your own location. However, I am also always happy to give you recommendations based off your personal needs.
Do you shoot indoors or outdoors? And do you have a studio?
K Schulz Photography is highly experienced in both indoor and outdoor pet photography, but we specialize in outdoor photos that highlight the natural environments and weather. We now have access to a studio space in NE Minneapolis.
Does my dog have to be off leash?
Nope! Most locations we’d visit during a session have leash laws anyway, so keeping your dog on a leash is definitely okay. Plus, we can edit leashes out of your photos at no extra cost.
What if I have more of a reactive dog?
I have a wide experience of photographing reactive pets, and am happy to build a session around what works best for you and your furry companion. For instance, if they’re reactive to other dogs, I’ll recommend a time or place where we’ll be able to enjoy our time on our own (or even a home session). If they’re more reactive to humans, I can use a long lens and stay further back or we can do slower intros to each other.
“Kelly is amazing and so talented. She is so patient with your pup and knows all the tricks to get the perfect shots. Will definitely be going back to her for future pics!”
